Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s essential to respond to your survey as quickly as possible since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
Due to the volatility of shipping prices globally right now, shipping fees for this project will be calculated at a later date once we have the best estimates for everyone. We plan to enter & charge backers for shipping a month or two before fulfillment when we have better estimates of what it will cost to ship backers rewards. We will alert backers when shipping costs are finalized & before we charge your cards in your BackerKit survey. We will keep you informed all along the way!
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under “Lost your survey?” on our BackerKit project page at https://amboria.backerkit.com.

An Amborian Connection!
– Thu, Jul 06, 2023 at 01:37:38 PM
Hey there!
Rinsos and the Strange Owl team are hard at work on kickstarter rewards. In the meantime, we wanted to point out that our good friend Jonathan Pageau's book Snow White and the Widow Queen is in its final 2 hours! This amazing project features a beautiful retelling of a traditional fairy tale. One of the stretch goals for the project actually includes a short story by our very own Richard Rohlin (aka Rinsos) with a secret Amboria connection!

My dear friends,
It’s been more than twenty years since I penned these words, written in a spiral-bound notebook; the very first words ever written about The World Under Starlight:
Long ago, before the years of the First Eon had yet begun to be reckoned, the people of the water awoke upon the northwestern shore of the great inland sea of Quadran. To them the Creator gave the gift of language, and so they began to give names to things. They called themselves the Amborians, which signifies water people, and from the first they were unified as one people. They found many precious things in the water, from pearls and diamonds hidden in the deep to a plant called Amseth, from which they made bread, and wine. But the most precious thing that they found was the ice-blue crystal that could shine with its own light. They called it Hoorpalb. Hoorpalb could be made into many things; the most precious thing of them was a metal, both light and strong, that would burn with a fervent light if any evil were near.
It’s pretty rough, and we’ve come a long way since then. During all these years, my dear wife Sophia has been the primary audience for Amboria, along with a few of my family and friends. Then, in February of 2018, I opened up my mostly private world to a small circle of players for the very first “Thunder in the North” campaign. Now, five years later, the good people of Strange Owl Games have given me the opportunity to share this world with you. And your response was overwhelming, humbling, and deeply encouraging. I wish I could show this Kickstarter to that lonely teenager and his stacks of spiral-bound notebooks!
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
And now, I have a LOT of work to do. Here’s what you can expect to happen over the course of the next few weeks:
First, Kickstarter will process your payments, which typically takes about 14 days.
Second, we’ll be preparing PDF drafts of Amboria: Roleplaying in the World Under Starlight and Thunder in the North: A Grand Campaign in the World Under Starlight. You can expect to receive these sometime after Kicksarter processes the payments. the primary writing for both is done, but we still need to arrange and compile Thunder in the North.
Third, we’ll be reaching out to people who backed at the Hero Errant I and Hero Errant II levels. These players will be participating in a massive anthology campaign event called The Midnight War. We will reach out to you soon with a list of session times for you to choose from, as well as other information about the campaign. Please bear with us while we get this organized—it’ll be my first time trying to run a campaign like this at this scale!
Once again, thank you all. You’ll be hearing a lot more from me and Strange Owl Games over the coming months!

Stretch Goal #14 - Shadlaharl Miniature STL

My dear friend,
Since you and your patrons have been so interested in the curious sculptures we have sent before, I thought you might enjoy the most recent fruit of our labors (to which I alluded in a previous missive). With the aid of a skilled draughtsman and sculptor, I traveled north to the Cheyth Wood, where I went to some pains to track down some of the largest examples I could find of the shadlaharl, the great horned beast of song and legend whose roar causes the great trees to shake and the waters to boil.
Included in the delivery of our tomes will be the schematics, drawings, and instructions necessary for you to recreate a sculpture of this mighty beast at scale—sure to be popular among those of your wealthier patrons looking to bring something of the exotic into their dining halls and atria.
Yours,
Rinsos Tanurpeim, Chief Scribe of the Red Scriptorium
